Personal Branding: What's it all about?

Have you noticed the term “personal branding” popping up recently and wondered what it’s all about?

You’re not alone and it’s not your imagination. The number of articles on the topic increased noticeably in recent years, including items in ForbesEntrepreneur, etc. As a result, it's one of the most commonly asked questions I hear at local networking events.

If you prefer more formal statements, then Personal Branding Photography is the imagery of an individual that creates a consistent look and feel to reflect a person’s personality, expertise, and spirit to foster connection, confidence, and engagement with potential clients when appearing in promotional platforms online and in print.

Now that the formality is out of the way, the truth is that you’ve probably already seen personal branding in action, but simply didn't associate the term with the strategy.

For instance, do you follow an influencer in your industry? The majority of effective influencers have created carefully constructed personal brands that provide a consistent presence across media and one that’s relevant to their mission.

Another way to think of it is, when your present an expressive YouTube thumbnail along with a customized newsletter banner and a recognizable profile image that all reflect comparable qualities grounded in the intentions and mission, that's your brand.

Since an image is worth a thousand words, what do you want to say?
